Amridge is accredited with the
Commission on Colleges of the Southern
Association of Colleges and Schools. On
December 8, 2005 the university received its ten
year renewal and reaffirmation of its
accreditation to confer the Associate of Arts
degree, Bachelor of Science degrees, Bachelor of
arts degrees, Master of Science degrees, Master
of Arts degrees, Master of Divinity degrees,
Doctor of Ministry degrees, and Doctor of
Philosophy degrees—a total of 33 degrees.

Amridge is a progressive
university widely recognized for its quality
academic programs, distance learning options,
Biblical Christian education programs, and
high-technology learning environment that makes
its academic programs available around the
world.
Ø
Amridge provides a quality
research library for its students which consists
of 20 million books, 52,639 full text eBooks,
and 100,050 electronic journals with 1 million
full text articles. This includes the
Montgomery, Alabama campus which has 80,000
books and 1,185 printed journals.

Amridge is affiliated with the
fellowship of the Churches of Christ and is the
first university of this affiliation that offers
accredited Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). degrees.
Amridge University offers Ph.D. degrees
in three areas, they are: Ph.D. in Biblical
Studies and the Ph.D. in Marriage and
Family Therapy and Ph. D. in Professional
Counseling—all Ph.D. degrees have on campus
residency requirements.

Amridge is a pioneer and leader
in distance learning since 1973.
Amridge
University was one of the first of 15
colleges and universities that was chosen in
1999 by the US Department of Education to
participate in a pilot demonstration program in
distance learning. This demonstration program
served as a basis for the recent passage in 2006
of a new law on distance education by the
United States Congress.

Amridge is where “Traditional
and Online Education Merge.” When a course
is taught in the traditional format class
sessions are videoed and all course materials,
course assignments, and test assignments are
provided online for a student to study, review
and submit course completion assignments—100% of
all courses taught each semester at the
university are available online.
Ø
Amridge uses an interactive web
instruction program, SumitPoint2, which
makes possible for the instruction and students
seeing, hearing, and collaborating with all
class participants in a live web online course.
These students and teachers may be located in
any of the 50 United States or in any foreign
country that has broad band internet service.
Class sessions are recorded and are made
available online for a student’s review.

Amridge has a total of 98
faculty members. All faculty meet accreditation
credentialing degree requirements and course
hour teaching standards for their assigned
courses of instruction. Fifty-seven percent of
the total Amridge faculty and all of the graduate
faculty members hold doctoral degrees from
esteemed institutions across the nation,
including Yale University, Duke University,
Vanderbilt University, Baylor University, etc.

Amridge offers Associate of
Arts, Bachelors and Masters
Degree programs online without requiring a
student to set foot on the main campus.
Ø
Amridge offers online business
and leadership programs. These include
Bachelors degrees in such subject areas as
Information Systems Management, General
Business, Information Communication, Management
Communication, and Human Resource Leadership.
Masters degrees are offered in Leadership and
Management and in Ministerial Leadership.

Amridge offers online
professional counseling and family therapy
program Masters, Doctor of Ministry and Ph.D.
degrees in such subject areas as Pastoral
Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy.
Ø
Amridge offers programs in
Public Safety, Criminal Justice and Homeland Security
with faculty member’s experiences in law
enforcement, the law, and military security.

Amridge provides several
undergraduate programs that prepare student for
career entry and also serve as foundation
programs for a wide range of graduate degrees.
These programs include human development,
business and liberal studies.

Amridge is having academic
influence in a wide geographical area and in a
variety of cultures with students in the 50
United States and in 20 nations.
Ø
Amridge is planning an expansion
on its new 185 acre campus that has 1.5 miles of
Interstate frontage with scenic lakes. This
campus will serve as the primary location of a
well designed campus for its Turner School of
Theology of Amridge University. A new
facility will be built to provide new space for
the library, administrative staff, classrooms,
and living quarters on this new campus.

Amridge is encouraging its Bible
faculty in its involvement in Bible teaching
programs in foreign countries. The university
is presently involved in 41 countries which
include such countries as: Bangladesh, Central
America, Chili, India, Easter Island, Guyana,
Iceland, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Philippines,
Indonesia, Singapore, South Africa, South Pacific
Islands, Tanzania, and Ukraine.

Amridge has a student body of
men and women from all walks of social and
religious life—over 60% of its student body have
had no affiliation with the fellowship of the
Churches of Christ and many students, as a
result of their social heritage, are
experiencing their first involvement and
contribution in Christian education.

Amridge students gave their
academic experience at Amridge University
a high 94% rating with 97% stating that they
would recommend the University’s academic
programs to their friends.

Amridge's Turner School of Theology is an associate member
of the Association of Theological Schools
(ATS).
Ø
Amridge students enrolled in the
Doctor of Philosophy in Biblical Studies
program are serving in church ministry—80% of
the enrolled students are in full time ministry.

Amridge is licensed to physically
teach
in the states of Alabama, Arizona, Tennessee,
Idaho, Montana and Utah.

through the leadership of the Board of Regents
aggressively seeks private and corporate funding
