Tuition Assistance

Tuition Assistance (TA) is a benefit offered to service members to assist with the cost of tuition. TA typically covers 100% of tuition, up to the $250 cap per credit hour. Our undergraduate tuition rate is $250 per credit hour and our graduate programs are discounted for military personnel, to bring the tuition down to the $250.00 credit hour cap. 

For additional information on amounts covered by TA and who is eligible, according to branch of service, please visit the Military - Tuition Assistance Program website. 

How to Enroll

Step 1 - Contact your academic advisor 
Your academic advisor will review your account to confirm academic and financial standing and help you in course selection. Your advisor will then release your hold to allow you to register and complete financial check-in. 

Step 2 - Login to ASIST to register online  

  1. Go to www.LUonline.com
  2. Click on Account Login
  3. Enter your username and password under LU Login
  4. Under Accounts, click ASIST
  5. Click on Student and Financial Aid
  6. Click on Registration, then Add or Drop Classes
  7. Select a term and follow the online instructions provided to add a course
  8. Continue adding until the desired amount of courses has been added to your schedule

Step 3 - Apply for TA

Go to the Air Force Virtual Education Center web portal at to request TA.  Once TA is approved, print the paper TA authorization form from the portal. 

Step 4 - Submit TA form to Military Affairs Office

Your TA form may be submitted by fax to 1-434-455-1287 or
1-800-628-7977, or scanned/emailed to dlpmilitary@liberty.edu. Please note: TA forms must be submitted prior to completion of financial check-in.

Step 5 - Complete Financial Check-in

Financial check-in is the final step that completes the online registration process. Once you have successfully completed financial check-in, the online registration process is complete. 
Note: Please do not complete financial check-in until you receive a confirmation email indicating that your TA has been processed.
 

   To complete financial check-in:

  • Go to www.LUonline.com
  • Click on Account Login
  • Enter your username and password under LU Login
  • Under Accounts, click ASIST
  • Click on Student and Financial Aid
  • Click Financial Check-in

Air Force – Reserve

Tuition Assistance

Air Force Reserve students may request Tuition Assistance (TA) reimbursement through their military education office. This means that payment must be made out of pocket (or through an alternate source, such as Financial Aid), and students will receive reimbursement upon successful completion of the course. TA must be requested BEFORE the start date in order to receive reimbursement. Students using reimbursement Tuition Assistance will be responsible for making payment arrangements via Financial Check-in by the civilian financial check-in deadlines. Additional information on the TA process may be found on the following Air Force Reserves webpage, http://www.afreserve.com/money.asp,
“Reservists must apply for Tuition Assistance before the start of each class. The Reservist pays attending institution all costs associated with taking each class(s), and is then reimbursed (payment made directly to student) if the grade earned is a C- or better, to include "Satisfactory" and "Pass" on an alternate scale.”

Step 4 - Complete Financial Check-in

Financial check-in is the final step that completes the online registration process. Once you have successfully completed financial check-in, the online registration process is complete.

  • Click on Account Login
  • Enter your username and password under LU Login
  • Under Accounts, click ASIST
  • Click on Student and Financial Aid
  • Click Financial Check-in

Step 5 - Print Grade Report from ASIST Account

  • Go to www.LUonline.com
  • Click on Account Login
  • Enter your username and password under LU Login
  • Under Accounts, click ASIST
  • Click New ASIST
  • Click Student Records
  • Click Final Grades or Academic Transcript and print off document and submit to your TA counselor for reimbursement
